The IM Control Specialist is an embedded control function which supports the IM business and is responsible for ensuring Investment Management’s alignment with the corporate operational risk management and compliance frameworks.  The candidate will work to identify related activities whereby efficiencies, consistency and connectivity can be enhanced and/or coordinated. The primary function of this role is to provide support to the IM business by assisting the IM firms/businesses with implementation of regulatory oversight and governance related to Operational Risk and Compliance, engaging with internal control functions (i.e., Audit, Enterprise Risk Assurance) and IM Risk & Compliance (2LoD).


Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to the IM business by monitoring IM’s compliance with the Operational Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks and policies; communicating Risk & Compliance policy changes, Risk Management Platform functional changes and enhancements and partnering with the IM Operational Risk and Compliance teams.
  • Communicating and educating the IM business regarding Operational & Compliance frameworks and related systems and regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Assisting the IM business in responding to requests and challenges from Corporate Operational Risk or Compliance; providing quality assurance to ensure timely remediation of issues raised.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of total work experience preferred. Prior experience/background in operational risk preferred. In addition, may require the following experience/skills based on primary duties:
  • Operational Risk / Control experience preferred.
  • Quality Assurance experience and reporting capability helpful.
