Team Description: 

BNY Mellon’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) supports the pillars of Holistic Risk Management by owning the following responsibilities: 

• Design and Maintain enterprise risk management Framework and Policies 
• Drive Continuous, Insightful Risk Identification
• Establish, Measure, and Monitor Risk Appetite
• Deliver Transparent, Consistent Risk Metrics and Reporting 

ERM drives the quarterly Risk Identification refresh process as well as the annual Risk Appetite articulation processes at the Corporate, Line of Business and Legal Entity levels. In addition, ERM coordinates the aggregation and reporting of the Enterprise Risk report to the Chief Risk Officer, SRCC and the Risk Committee of the Board.  

Position Summary:

Drives the ongoing oversight of Enterprise Risk Management globally. Provides independent oversight to the first line's risk identification, assessment, monitoring, remediation and reporting of the business's risk exposure. Expected to collaborate with the core team, business and entity teams and have good stakeholder management skills. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the team in developing and implementing Enterprise Risk Framework methodology and requirements for the organization. This includes key Enterprise Risk activity such as risk identification and risk appetite processes and to ensure material risk are effectively identified, managed, and reported to senior management.
• Support the development of common procedures and processes to ensure consistent application of the Enterprise Risk Framework across Business Lines/Legal Entities (LEs). 
• Contribute in defining best practices related to Enterprise Risk Framework and collaborate with risk managers in executing these requirements for their Business Lines/LEs. 
• Builds relationships with organizational managers to increase the likelihood that risk-related deliverables, issue resolution and implementation of improvements will be completed on time. 
• Assess relevant regulations and regulatory actions on Enterprise Risk Framework matters and support the communication of the effect on our businesses, policy, and processes.
• Support the development, coordination, and delivery of Enterprise Risk Framework related training or workshops.
• Special projects as determined by the Head of Enterprise Risk Management.

Requirements (what we are looking for):

• Superior stakeholder management, engagement, and communication skills
• Self-motivated and enjoys collaborating with multiple teams 
• Proven track record of delivering 
• Good problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills
• Knowledge of risk management, economic issues, and regulatory environment; financial services / banking, investment services highly preferred
• Strong Excel skills are desired
• Direct relevant work experience is preferred but not essential, including Enterprise and / Operational Risk Management, audit and / compliance 
• Fluency in English
• No direct reports
• Contributes to the achievement of team objectives
• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
• 5-7 years of total work experience preferred
