Your Impact:

General Ledger Accountants are accountable for ensuring that business transactions are properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company’s accounting process. General Ledger Accountants are the owners of the financial statements for each separate entity, as well as consolidated statements for the entire company. The General Ledger is the central core of accounting information system that provides a complete record of financial transactions over the life of the company.

General Ledger Business Analyst supports Accountants in their daily job by administering the tools and monitoring the work done across different teams: in and outside of GBS. This includes SOX compliance monitoring and suggesting any improvements to current processes. This role joins the solid accountancy knowledge and eagerness for utilizing available accounting software, including it’s set-up and development.  

Key responsibilities of GL Business Analyst:

  • Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (ARCS) tool administration (incl. account reconciliation, transaction matching, variance analysis, month end task management)
  • Point of contact for ARCS users
  • Response, resolve Minor & Major Incidents relating to the tool
  • Constant work towards efficiencies in tool usage and GL process improvements
  • Managing and/or active participation in any ad-hoc GL process improvements (including work transition)
  • Close cooperation with GL and other finance teams across different locations, including the Corporate Accounting management
  • Consultancy and advisory to GL accountants globally with regards to reconciliation preparation and/or appropriate accounting treatment for specific transactions
  • Chart of Account maintenance
  • Provide guidance and functional advice to ARCS users
  • Troubleshoot and solve simple ARCS related issues
  • ;Diagnose and escalate technical issues beyond own support scope – cooperate with Oracle IT team (or others)
  • Engage with users to verify reported issues both technical and 
  • Create knowledge articles and training materials, conduct user training 
  • Track & resolve ServiceNow tickets
  • Update, execute and monitor execution of SOX internal controls for GL teams (incl. open item management)
  • Cooperate with audit (internal, external and SOX team) with regards to ACRS tool maintenance as well as GL processes
  • Verification of Chart of Account change requests against agreed standardization.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 4+ years professional experience in General Ledger area
  • English skills that allow to communicate well and professionally in everyday situations, including running conference calls
  • Solid accounting knowledge to support users in non-technical questions and execution of internal controls
  • Critical mind and problem solving skills
  • Eager for process improvement and looking for work/process efficiencies
  • “Can do” attitude 
  • Flexible to change and ease to adjust to dynamic working environment
  • Ability to support US/CA region in their working hours (on ad-hoc basis)
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems (Oracle R12 preferred)   
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel  
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • SQL knowledge or willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with administration of accounting reconciliation tools (BlackLine, ARCS, ARM) will be a big asset 
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn on databases structures
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and controls   
  • Experience with US Global Organization  
  • ACCA course (completed or in progress) or equivalent
