Your responsibilities


The SEAM organization integrates Safety, Environment & Asset Management activities, with a broad geographical footprint, that will support Shell’s business & assets around the world. Technical Asset Operations (TAO), which sits in SEAM, is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell’s Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Chemicals and Products (C+P), Integrated Gas/Renewables and Energy Solutions (IGRES) and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes. TAO Teams provide technical support to MEC & other related AMS Processes. TAO teams support partners from Chemicals and Products (C+P), Integrated Gas/Renewables and Energy Solutions (IGRES), Upstream Assets, and other corporate businesses/functions of Shell. The TAO teams are located across 4 locations: Chennai, Manila, KL & Krakow.

Integration and Insights Lead - within Technical Reporting and Digital Integration at TAO

Technical Reporting is and will continue to be one of the fastest growing team in TAO. We have a fantastic opportunity to deliver significant value across Shell by centralising Technical Reporting. TAO not only offers an opportunity to provide that support but also aspires to be a Trusted Advisor of Shell Assets.

Value will be achieved not only by Aggregating, Optimising & Automating reports but more through simplifying/Integrating the reports across AMS processes and co-create actionable insights in a Natural Team.

As part of the technical reporting opportunity realization, Integration and Insights Lead support Excellence Lead and OLs to lead improvement projects and as part of Digital Integration, brings in all the Digitalization opportunities across TAO and creates a TAO Digitalization Strategy and an annual Roadmap aligned with LOB roadmap. Global digitalization initiatives include but not limited to Asset Information Factory (AIF); HSSE Data & Analytics Platform (DAP); Subsurface Data Universe (SDU) and AMDP. Supports DIY Initiatives, Develop an Digitalization opportunity Funnel and Tracks Value through Digitalization.

Helps build a unique team with hybrid technical, reporting & analytical capabilities by blending Process & IT skills not only to support the wide technical reporting portfolio but also to create a talent pipeline to TAO.

 Integration and Insights Leadis positioned to be a spider in the web of Product Owners, GPOs, GDHs, Asset Digitalization Teams and TAO Digital Champions. 

Purpose & Accountabilities

This is an Integration role for TAO Digitalization Strategy-Roadmap, Technical Reporting and TAO Digitalization Investments.

  • Support Excellence Lead to provide first level Insights/Diagnosis to relevant OMs, working Hand in hand with Digitalization Lead
  • Supports Excellence Lead to facilitate the Opportunity sessions with Asset and OMs and help build a Digitalization Opportunity Funnel.
  • Co-create Causal Analysis/Diagnostics for issues highlighted through Technical reporting across AMS process with Digitalization Lead and SMEs in rest of TAO and Assets.
  • Provide integrated support options to businesses and functions (robust technical reporting with detailed analysis and improvement area identification)
  • Build competency and bring excellence for AMS Processes to TRDI Team
  • Champion CI and contribute to TAO CI targets. Drive simplify and Integration beside Aggregation, Optimization and Automation of Technical Reporting
  • Coach, mentor and sustain capability within Technical Reporting and Digital Integration
  • Collaborate with wider teams within Operational Excellence (Data Science, Automation, DQ etc.) in deploying reporting and analysis solutions
  • Build capable team whilst driving automation to reduce manual workload – driving 10% annual efficiency improvements

Skills & Requirements

  • Learner Mindset, Strong analytical and Problem solving skills
  • University Degree in Engineering Discipline with 10-15 years of relevant experience in maintenance, turn-around and good understanding of Operations & Safety of large O&G manufacturing units and 2+ years of Business Improvement Experience.
  • Bird-eye view of maintenance, processes of a manufacturing unit, Supply chain and the overlaps of these processes and able to identify process improvement & process overlaps to provide suggestion to bridge gaps.
  • Strong Data, System(CMMS) and Process Integration capability
  • Understanding of Digital Twin/Unified Engineering/PTM will be an added advantage
  • Flexibility to move quickly across changing priorities and manage multiple Programmes
  • Ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and implement new ways of working and reporting methods using the Shell Digitalization platform and business needs.
  • A good understanding of the Upstream/DS/IG business.
  • External lens and connectivity: able to understand how Shell can influence the external world and how Shell is influenced by the external world.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to challenge and ability to build internal and external relationships based on trust and to integrate across multiple functions.
  • End to End MRTA Process Management and Continuous Improvement is the preferred skill.
  • Proven track record of delivery in Asset and/or Project leadership.
