ROLE OBJECTIVES

The Tax Advisory role involves providing tax support to the business, other support functions and other members of the tax team. Supporting Senior Tax Adviser Upstream Brazil, you will be responsible for the delivery of tax advice. 

What is the Role?

The principal aspects of this role include:

• Providing tax advice as requested.
• Support NOVs audits from Tax standpoint, converging assets in which Shell figures as non-operator
• Work with tax line manager to develop and maintain a common agenda between advice area and business.
• Assist in raising tax awareness through training and workshops.
• Recommend optimal tax solutions and related entity and contractual structures for the purpose of meeting legal requirements, reducing exposure and maximizing shareholder value.
• Ballots review
• Working with other colleagues in Shell Brazil tax department (e.g., others tax advisors, corporate & compliance, litigation) to ensure complete coverage of all tax related issues and risks.
• Supporting tax and business stakeholders in daily activities by analyzing the impacts of tax legislation changes for corporate area, including among others, tax allowance, tax calculations, tax returns, etc.
• Promoting learning mindset and optimize learnings from errors, incidents and near misses.

What We Need from You?

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or Law/Tax
• Work experience in financial positions (tax, accounting, finance), incl. minimum of 5 years’ experience in tax advisory
• Strong tax and tax law knowledge
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Knowledge in Brazilian tax (both direct and indirect) and associated law/regulations
• Developed analytical and strategic competencies
• Independently motivated and able to effectively engage diverse stakeholders in a virtual environment; and
• Fluency in Portuguese
• Strong team working skills
