You will be working in the finance team in the ABB Business Services organization, in the largest center located in Krakow, providing key support to the business, ensuring the accurate tracking and processing of all transactions. Reporting to the General Accounting Delivery Manager you will provide key support to the business, applying relevant accounting techniques and standards to identify and resolve issues.

Your responsibilities

• Leading a functional work team (+50 employees) within General Accounting focused on the complete, accurate, and timely completion of accounting transactions
• Developing and implementing strategic plans in line with ABB Group Standards to meet commitments and deliver high quality services to business partners
• Working as a key member of the Finance Delivery Management team to establish a culture within which promotes professional ownership of service levels
• Acting as point of contact for all process/people related escalations
• Ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and procedures developing and maintaining systems, procedures and policies, including Records to Report functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines
• Managing the period/quarter/year end processes and ensuring delivery of all required activities accurate and timely
• Acting as audit point of contact for external, internal and SOX audits and leading the internal control over Financial Reporting compliance and reporting for General Accounting
• Leading or participate in safety, compliance, business ethics, Group Charter, communications and other important related activities and actively leading and contributing to periodic review meetings with Senior Management to action steps for further process and service improvement
• Identifying, recommending and assisting in implementation of best practices to gain efficiency and drive productivity gains across the region/global
• Proactively working together with key stakeholders outside of the General Accounting department and the Global Finance Center Krakow to drive end-to-end improvements in the Record to Report process that lead to harmonization and standardization

Your background

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Finance domain at least 3 years of experience in managing a team of +20 employees
• Experience in Finance Shared Services for a Global Company a strong plus
• Proficiency in the domain of General Accounting and thorough understanding of financial accounting and reporting
• Excellent user knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel skills, knowledge of SAP accounting system and HFM experience
• Familiar with Project Management methodologies and Lean Six Sigma
• Proficient in business English
• Excellent communication skills as well as team handling and delegations skills
• Collaborative and conflict resolving approach to stakeholder management
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, handle different initiatives concurrently, create learning atmosphere among team members and leverage networks within the organization
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting, Charted Accountant qualifications a strong plus
