About the project:

As Product Manager within our Client’s Software Organization, you will be responsible for your product's vision and roadmap. You will be working closely with cross functional product and business stakeholders to ensure the base software supports their features and is adaptable to future customer needs.  You will effectively be the “Product Line CEO”. We are looking for a world class product leader and innovator to join our high-performing leadership team to shape the future. 

Your future tasks:

  • Establishes and owns the vision and strategic priorities for base software for high performance computers (HPC) and zone control units (ZCU) with input from solution management, solution architecture, and other internal stakeholders 
  • Manages the feature and/or Epic descriptions and product line roadmaps 
  • Ensures the program backlog reflects the vision and strategy by working closely with Product Owners and other Product Managers 
  • Aligns the base software product backlog, roadmaps, and program increment plans with those of the hardware teams and other agile release trains (ARTs)  
  • Guides Product Owners on priority of backlog grooming, while managing & prioritizing flow of work into the product backlog 
  • Uses business cases to make the case for new features and products/technology 
  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders and other influencers who contribute to the definition and ongoing support of the new base software platform 
  • Works cross functionally with other product areas within the Software Organization and across the enterprise 
  • Considers flexibility and scalability as core attributes of the platform 
  • Continuously researches industry developments, new market trends, and understands how our products are performing with current customers 

Our Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience with increasing responsibilities, including team leadership 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management of an embedded software product  
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading the development of automotive base software layers/modules/drivers 
  • Experience and understanding of embedded hardware/software integrations 
  • Experience with software product development and lifecycles, including agile methodologies 
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team with system/solution architects, HW designers, SW architects/developers, HW/SW integrators, and business teams 
  • Strong relationship building skills, including the ability to relate constructively to all levels of an organization 
  • Strong listening, technical writing, and oral communication skills 
  • Outstanding skills in presenting to both technical and executive audiences 
  • Experience working in an Agile environment 
  • University degree

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with AUTOSAR (Classic and Adaptive), AOSP (Android Open Source Project), QNX, and/or Linux 
  • A software development background with experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Java, Python) 
  • Experience designing and developing hardware/software for embedded systems 
  • Experience working with automotive MPUs and/or MCUs  
  • Experience working with service-oriented architectures 
  • Experience working with automotive networks (i.e. CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and protocols (e.g. UDS, SOME/IP, etc.)
