We are seeking to hire an intelligent and highly motivated individual to join the Portfolio Analytics Team. The Portfolio Analytics Team provides mission critical support to Business Development, Investor Relations, and the Investment Team. This role will focus primarily on data analytics and performance reporting for all investments under management, supporting Alcentra businesses. The ideal candidate will have a mixture of numerate and technology experience, with strong analytical and communication skills. This individual will collaborate with colleagues across the front, middle and back office.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Senior Portfolio Analytics Analyst ?
- Assist in the creation of essential internal/external monthly and quarterly automated performance reporting
- Partner with Business Development, Investor Relations, Valuation, Operations and Finance teams to ensure the breadth, depth and accuracy of data and reporting
- Support Business Development and Investor Relations through the preparation of analytical statistics required for presentations and investor requests
- Maintain the integrity of internal processes and databases used to track key performance and investment metrics
- Ongoing maintenance and use of Tableau dashboards that provide golden source information or data validation
- Help capture, maintain, and clean financial data and statistics of Alcentra funds’ underlying credits and BSP’s borrowers
- Constantly evaluate systems, processes and procedures for inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvement
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- 3+ years of experience within financial services
- Highly numerate and strong analytical skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
- Detail oriented, diligent, thorough, and curious
- Experience in any of the following a plus:
- Expertise in data analytical tools such as Alteryx
- Data visualization including Tableau
- Use of SQL
- Financial services knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or comparable
- Motivated, self-starter with strong analytical skills, and an ability to grasp new concepts quickly
- Strong appreciation for technology/business systems and their application in the workplace
- Familiarity and experience with financial statements and financial metrics is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ever changing, and results driven environment
- Team player with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels within the Firm
