This Position reports to:
Global Head of FP&A, Robotics
Reporting to the Head of Functional Cost Controlling, you will work closely with the Head of FP&A, CFO, and each Function Head to support decision-making and ensure financial readiness for ABB Robotics’ spin-off and future listed-company environment.
The work model for the role is: hybrid/remote
Preferred location: Poland
Travelling up to 10% is required for this position.
Your role and responsibilities :
- Functional Cost Controlling: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for all corporate functions excluding Information Systems and Real Estate (Marketing, Communications, Legal, HR, Finance, etc.), ensuring transparency, accuracy, and disciplined cost management.
- Spin-Off Readiness: Develop and implement governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and processes for these functional cost areas — covering carve-out allocations, separation costs, and the establishment of stand-alone cost structures for the new listed entity.
- Business Partnering & Insight: Partner with Function Heads to analyze cost drivers, challenge spending patterns, and identify efficiency opportunities while maintaining alignment with business and strategic priorities.
- Process & Cost Management: Design and manage robust cost allocation and budgeting processes, ensuring clear accountability and alignment across Product Groups and legal entities. Support the Head of Functional Cost Controlling in harmonizing methodologies and master data across all functions.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of tools, templates, and systems used for functional cost controlling, and support the development of best practices to increase analytical efficiency and insight generation.
Qualifications for the role:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration with at least 3-6 years of international finance/controlling experience, with strong exposure to corporate reporting and HQ/functional cost management.
- At least 2 years of direct cost controlling, budgeting, and forecasting experience, managing large functional/HQ budgets (~$50M+), with prior involvement in spin-offs, carve-outs, IPO readiness, or major finance transformation projects being a plus.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders and support strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to act as a trusted business partner, challenge stakeholders constructively, and work effectively in a fast-paced, transformational environment; fluent in English.
