Your team

The Compliance Assurance team in Kraków is part of the Global Compliance function and plays a key role in providing independent oversight of first-line activities.

The team supports senior management and the Board by delivering assurance that regulatory requirements are being met, primarily through monitoring adherence to IG’s policies, procedures, and internal standards.

Your role in the Team's Success

You will contribute to our overall success by involvement in 2nd line monitoring of various business lines (including, but not limited to:  marketing, client services, sales, product design and appropriateness, client money, client reporting, governance, trading and execution, employee training and competence, outsourcing and third parties).

What you'll do

  • Compliance monitoring of various business lines/functions, evaluation of findings and follow up for recommendations for change
  • Ownership and execution of high-risk business areas substantive deep dives
  • Monitoring the Group’s compliance with relevant regulatory obligations, including the conduct of our staff and adherence to appropriate process and policies
  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessments across business units and processes, identifying control gaps, and recommending enhancements to the control environment to mitigate compliance and operational risks
  • Ownership and management of Compliance related projects
  • Contribute to Compliance Assurance processes by identifying opportunities for improvements, assisting in the development and implementation of necessary ad hoc business changes whether regulatory or business driven
  • Being responsible for information circulation between Central Compliance Assurance Team and Local Offices (passing feedback regarding significant compliance matters that require their attention and action)
  • Responsibility for any additional duties as assigned
  • Active participation in knowledge sharing across the team (including training)
  • Building and developing strong relationships with Local Officers, Business process owners and Internal Audit

What you'll need for this role

  • Key Qualification Requirements:
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English + fluency in both verbal and written German and/or Italian is an essential requirement
  • Experience in Compliance/Audit/IA/Risk (preferably FinTech but financial institutions experience is more than welcome as well)
  • Good understanding of financial markets and products and awareness of FCA regulations and wider regulatory landscape
  • Inquisitive and analytical approach to problem solving and a willingness to be decisive when considering the right judgement in each case are essential
  • Considered, diplomatic approach with excellent relationship and communication skills with their team, line manager, across the business and with external parties
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Voices sensible and well thought through opinions and contributes towards department discussions and decisions
  • Self-motivated team player who is diligent, organized, flexible, open to change and has an attention to detail
