FP&A - Finance Applications Support & AI Specialist

Your role and responsibilities

Are you a finance professional with a passion for driving project success? We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our innovative, dynamic and talented finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be a trusted business partner to the Marketing & Sales Finance Organization, steering activities across multiple finance projects

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide reliable and timely analysis of financial results, budget, and forecasts. Each day, you will support the ABB group management and other stakeholders at various organization levels in decision making processes. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting in the evaluation of the impact of strategic, financial, or other major investment decisions.

The work model for the role is: hybrid (#LI hybrid)

This role is contributing to the ELSB, ELSP Marketing & Sales Finance Organization across all geographies in ABB.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Supporting the analysis of business performance versus plan and proposing improvement actions.
• Working with management team to understand and analyze drivers of financial performance and identify market trends.
• Supporting the preparation of financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the relevant organization.
• Ensuring the quality of financial data and business information in line with defined standards and financial closing schedules.
• Providing information to management by gathering and summarizing data, preparing reports, and making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
• Acting as a project manager for identified/specific Marketing & Sales Finance projects, coordinating requirements across the organizations.
• Optimizing organization performance to increase productivity by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplications, and coordinating information requirements.
• Coordinating and promoting the spread of AI culture within the local division by leading all AI-related projects and initiatives, ensuring consistent adoption, alignment, and measurable impact across teams.
• Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data to support model development and performance optimization.
• Implementing and ensuring compliance with the ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies, and processes. Ensure integrity and adherence to ABB’s core values and ethics in all activities.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial analysis, and performance management.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project finance or a related field, with a proven track record of managing financial aspects of projects.
• Proficiency in data analytics and the ability to interpret complex financial data. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Good understanding of SAP modules and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel (pivot tables, basic macros), with the ability to analyze data and support process optimization.
• Basic understanding of data engineering, APIs, and cloud platforms is an advantage.
