Job description:

This role provides the successful candidate an opportunity to see various parts of the Upstream and P&T businesses through a CP lens and to demonstrate such imperative Group behaviours as Commercial Mindset, External Focus and Speed of delivery. The role has a direct impact on delivery of business cost improvement through 3rd Party Spend management. The main focus will be on Sourcing and Contract management with Suppliers, and maximizing Value generation (creation and preservation) from dedicated categories.

Accountabilities
Work with stakeholders within Upstream, Projects, Wells (UPW) Delivery Business, Functions (e.g. Finance, HR) and across Organizational boundaries to deliver substantial value by:

  • Creating a deeper business partnership within the scope of the role focused to deliver maximum business value

  • Developing and executing fit-for-purpose commercial strategies and work plans for Operational spend, aligned with CMCP guidelines and with CPiB and Category Management strategies

  • Applying Business understanding to develop, communicate and implement CP strategies to maximize value of Third-Party Spend.

  • Provide a strong commercial influence with optimizing demand and specifications

  • Assuring supply of contracts at market competitive terms and conditions

  • Analyze cost basis of Procurement Operations in post-award contracts for continuous improvement

  • Leverage Best practices and external market dynamics to deliver value

  • Identify, develop, and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities to streamline and improve performance – supporting Upstream, Projects, Wells (UPW) Delivery PM

  • Ensure compliance with all Ethics & Compliance and Shell Control Framework requirements in the CP process

  • Deliver end-to-end cost savings impacting RDS bottom line

  • Operational Excellence, Compliance

  • Sourcing purchase orders for all categories of spend supporting Businesses/Functions

  • Assist Accounts Payables in the resolution of procurement issues associated with vendor invoices.

  • Work closely with business Stakeholders, Accounts Payable in Chennai, Manila and Buyers and ensure vendors are paid timely.

  • Identify and resolve End-to-End non-compliance through awareness, training and escalation and working with the business Stakeholders, Finance and Accounts Payable to resolve POT issues.

  • Manage a medium complexity and low-touch contract portfolio; monitor contracts and Contractor performance

  • Develop, tender and negotiate contracts in line with the Business Demand

  • Demonstrate HSSE behaviours in dealings with colleagues/contractors

  • Maximize value from Operational contracts and implement Enterprise Framework Agreements and Category contracts

  • Ensure continuity of supply through managing ad-hoc business requirements in accordance with Tail-spend Management principles.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience with negotiation and commercial transactions is essential

  • Preferred education includes Bachelor / Master degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Law, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline(s)

  • Sound understanding of Contracting & Procurement and CP’s role in contributing to the Business’ Bottom Line

  • Ability to take initiative, influence others, and make recommendation/decisions in a timely manner with imperfect data

  • Knowledge of SAP and RtP process is beneficial

  • Well organized and able to manage competing priorities

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and in teams

  • Good communication and inter-personal skills

  • Exhibits business savviness and commercial curiosity

  • Fluent in English (written & oral)

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the Global CMCP process and Commercial Contract Management techniques

  • Proven track record of execution excellence and driving results in a commercial environment while showing strong customer focus.
