Join us as an Expert in Alternative Funds Accounting and Financial Reporting Team

 

As the Expert you will be responsible for the day to day full financial accounting of companies on stand-alone level. This includes, for example, booking of daily cash movements and invoices, calculating and booking accruals  for interest, fees and taxes and respective reconciliation of the data. You will be preparing and reviewing financial reports of a complex fund structures and entities, internally and to external clients and regulatory bodies.

Part of your duties will include transition of the stand-alone accounts (Lux GAAP) to group/fund GAAP (mainly IFRS), inserting the data in the consolidation system and preparing statutory financial statements on the annual basis. The accounting and financial reporting are done for companies within group structures of a Real Estate Investment Funds (REIF) and other Alternative Funds. Within these structures there are Luxembourg companies (entities) that have to be accounted for in accordance with LUX GAAP. In future, the person filling this position will perform consolidations with the assistance of the group manager.

 

Some of your key responsibilities include:  

  • Independently produce full accounting for stand alone entities from real estate funds structures according to Lux GAAP and IFRS
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness and completeness of all client related tasks
  • Ensure efficient operation of daily processing and functions, advise on workflow improvements
  • Cooperate with external service provider and Luxembourg Accounting Team to deliver top quality accounting to the clients
  • Increase your technical skills and accounting knowledge about Lux GAAP and IFRS but attending trainings and self-development
  • On a monthly/quarterly basis prepare reconciliation between Lux GAAP and IFRS GL
  • Ensure adherence to all established procedures, best practices and controls
  • Meet monthly / quarterly / annual reporting deadlines regarding reporting packages, statutory financial statements and accounts reconciliations
  • Produce error-free reporting packages, annual statutory accounts and fund financial statements
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting/consolidation matters
  • On a monthly/quarterly basis upload all relevant accounting data for consolidation purposes
  • Act as main client contact for day-to-day accounting tasks and related ad-hoc requests
  • Establish/maintain a outstanding client relationship
  • Act as main contact for external auditors/tax advisors as part of annual financial audits
  • Communicate professionally with other sections and departments to effectively address and resolve problems
  • Drive to continues efficiency improvement and standarization
  • Produce day to day coaching on technical and accounting aspects to accountants and senior accountants within the team
  • Deliver, if needed, technical accounting, process or system trainings to new joiners.

 

Qualifications:

  • Primary degree in accounting/finance related discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in financial reporting, accountancy or audit.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards. Professional accountancy qualification will be an asset (qualified or part qualified).
  • Prior experience in investment funds industry will be an asset.
  • Fostering Team Spirit. Strong focus on mentoring and coaching team members.
  • Creativity in developing solutions to meet client and control requirements.
  • Strong reviewing skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and complete a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Highly computer literate with strong Excel and Word skills.
  • Fluency in English
