Job description:

This position is a great opportunity to join Shell's Tax Team within Finance Operations team. 

The post holder will be responsible for direct tax compliance, tax accounting and reposting for direct tax process for various Shell entities.

Key responsibilities:

 

  1. Ensuring timely submission of monthly, quarterly and annual tax provisions;

  2. Ensuring timely calculation and Payment of Withholding taxes on intercompany loan transactions;

  3. Ensuring the Tax Timing sheets of upstream and downstream business are accurate before doing the real tax provisioning;

  4. Review and Ensure timely submission of internal reports for direct tax reconciliation to the controllers;

  5. Ensuring timely submission of special direct tax forms to the AP department for Advance Tax Payments (Monthly) in order to avoid the Interest & Penalties;

  6. Ensuring timely submission of various direct  tax reports on a quarterly basis to the controller teams;

  7. Co-ordinate with the controller’s team and Records and Accounting team to making sure that all the Tax records and tax reporting data’s are adequate and fully explained, submitted in to internal reporting tool;

  8. Ensuing timely submission of direct tax key performance indicators on a quarterly basis;

  9. Responsible for various tax accounts reconciliation;

  10. Ensuring SOX controls for direct tax are operated effectively (monthly, quarterly and annually);

  11. Ensuring the full support to the country tax team in tax return preparation and submission;

  12. Co-ordination/ support for resolving all audit queries;

  13. Ensuring compliance with direct tax roles and responsibilities;

 Requirements:

  • University degree (Law, Economy, Finance, Accounting preferable)

  • Proved experience in direct tax area for minimum 2-3 years in multinational and multicultural environment 

  • Fluent English 

  • Very good communication skills

  • Knowledge of international direct tax standards

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specially Excel tool

  • Knowledge of various ERP systems would be beneficial

  • Comfortable working under time pressure situations 

  • Ability for working with different time zones

  • ​Knowledge of Portuguese, Spanish or Dutch would be beneficial
