Purpose of Role:

 

 

As part of the Global Program initiative, design and launch a robust Third Party Risk Assessment Framework (i.e. refining the EMEA Business Controls governance) to respond and adhere to new and existing regulatory guidelines and initiatives and further mature internal risk management functions, including monitoring and execution of activities against the framework,  demonstrating sense of accountability in performing the role.

The scope is all legal Entities within EMEA and all business and corporate functions.

The scope excludes JV and TPRM global exception list.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

Role specifics (please update as required, red text example only)

  • Institute an effective governance model to provide ongoing monitoring and oversight to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of Third Party Risk Management functions;

 

  • Facilitate the implementation and execution of the TPRM Framework and Policy across EMEA LE;

 

  • Plan, organize and report on the activities of the EMEA TPRM Program Office. Tracking and managing all deliverables while providing support for the global rollout of the program; deliverables are both global (i.e. program progress) and regional to provide LE, BUs and senior management metrics around their vendors’ status;

 

  • Lead the TPRM EMEA effort, primarily tasked with reducing fragmentation and building consistency in management and oversight of external outsourcing arrangements

 

  • Provide TPRM thought leadership and program design;

 

  • Build and report vendor data analytics aligned with the global approach;

 

  • Ensure the systems, process and procedures are in place to meet regulator and audit requirements for TPRM across EMEA;

 

  • Liaise with business stakeholders, ERM, Compliance, Legal and Technology teams to create synergies and resolve issues ;

 

  • Represent the TPRM program and support senior leadership in liaising with Regulators;

 

  • Run weekly/periodic metrics to support TPRM Management in keeping track of program progress and determine next actions to streamline the process;

 

  • Support Operational and corporate functions teams in performing Due Diligence reviews where necessary;
  • Aligned with the proposed Global Model, you will be responsible for engagement and direction within EMEA for:
    • Policy
    • Advisory
    • Strategy
    • Framework
    • Oversight
    • Testing
    • Reporting
  • Engage with executive leaders across the region to ensure vendor strategies are aligned with business needs and that business needs are met 
  • Work with cross-functional teams to analyze and present key financial and strategic issues to senior leadership and drive decision making and execution

 

Managerial

  • Demonstrate the ‘Risk Excellence’ culture in your behaviour
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of :
    • The scope of  the role’s managerial responsibilities
    • The competence of the staff reporting to you(if any)
  • Ensure that your team has clear understanding of their reporting lines, authority levels, scope of responsibilities (including those delegated to them and those they delegate), objectives, training and competency requirements plus progress is reviewed regularly in line with Company policy, and are regulatory registered where appropriate for their role
  • Develop effective working relationships and communications with staff and ensure that staff are motivated, developed and supported.
  • Establish and monitor systems of control, delegated authority and escalation procedures so that the business complies with internal policies and external regulations and can be managed effectively
  • Adhere to the delegation and oversight (management information and escalation) framework in the performance of daily tasks. This includes taking proactive action to ensure there is adequate production of management information that is fits for purpose, and issues are raised as appropriate
  • Establish and monitor an effective delegation framework to ensure that tasks are performed by staff members with appropriate capacity and authority level (based on knowledge, skills and competence).
  • Establish and monitor an effective oversight framework to ensure that issues are appropriately identified, escalated and resolved. This includes: a) ensuring that appropriate management information is received, considered and challenged as appropriate at  intervals proportionate to the risks; and b) that staff members have clear understanding of the escalation path/principles
  • Establish and nurture a culture of  ‘Risk Excellence’  within the team, encourage an environment of openness that welcomes effective challenge and supports open discussion.
  • Ensure that you make reasonable decisions by exercising reasonable care when considering information available to you. This includes taking proactive action to ensure that the information you have is suitable and adequate.
  • Establish and nurture a culture of individual ownership of tasks to embed a clear individual sense of accountability into staff members’ behaviour in performing their roles.
  • Ensure that the highest level of the Code of Conduct is displayed in your own and staff behaviour.

 

Person Specification

  • Proven track record in delivery of a regionally significant Third Party Vendor Management function within a financial services firm.
  • Strategic mind-set and change management methodology understanding
  • Proven influencing and negotiation skills with senior management
  • Risk Management experience is desirable , especially pertinent when this is linked with TPRM experience
  • Strong leadership and representational skills
  • Capability to work across functions and businesses and engage stakeholders at all levels of the Firm
  • Strategic and systematic thinker with the ability to execute tactically and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills that the individual can lead the organization to consider and embrace
  • Strong analytical intelligence for forward planning
  • Ability to influence and shape outcomes with senior level stakeholders
  • Fluent in English
