Job description:
As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will work closely with an international team of experts in Finance, Economics, Reservoir Engineering and IT to develop practical solutions for the Planning, Appraisal and Reporting processes. Your focus will be on Planning One – a planning and portfolio optimisation system we are currently rolling out across our Integrated Gas portfolio.
This is a global role and may require flexibility to accommodate different time-zones in case of emergencies.
Roles and Responsibilites:
Performing or advising on the economic evaluation, asset and company valuations, decision analysis, and business planning activities.
Proposing innovative solutions to generate better and timelier insights that help drive decision making in one of the largest gas producers in the world. Lead the development process for such solutions.
Working with software developers, architects and business counterparts to ensure the system is functioning in accordance with our standards and the business needs
Provide project management support, best practice sharing, training and advanced troubleshooting
Developing and cultivating long-term relationships with business stakeholders
Deliver other automation initiatives in the Planning, Appraisal and Reporting space
Dimensions :
PDS (Process, Data and Systems) is a unique, interdisciplinary team of high-performing individuals recognised by the Upstream and Integrated Gas businesses for our ability to deliver quality solutions in the area of Planning, Appraisal and Reporting. Our work is organised around 3 core areas: Process – looking for non-technical improvement opportunities to compliment solutions in other two areas; Data – providing quantitative analytics support to central planning teams and overall accountability for data integrity in planning; and Systems – where we work alongside business and IT counterparts to ensure solutions built are affordable, fit for purpose and meet Business requirements;
Requirements:
Degree in Finance/Economics, or
Degree in an Engineering/IT or other quantitative discipline complimented by good understanding of main Financial concepts (formal courses/qualifications would be an asset)
Knowledge of at least one programming language is would be an asset (not a hard requirement). VBA/ VB.Net is preferred but other languages like Python are acceptable as well
Project Management experience
Ability to translate Business requirements into practical IT solutions
Ability to use software packages such as SQL Server & Office/Power point
Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision

Fluent in English (written and spoken) and effective in communicating
Self-starter, autonomous worker and ambitious
Flexible, resilient and can manage ambiguity
familiarity with at least one programming language would be an asset
