Job description:

Purpose

Shell Aviation is a vibrant, customer-oriented, challenging and profitable business. Shell Aviation provides refuelling operations at Airports at over 100 locations across the globe through own operations, agents and 3rd party contractors. Operations is about delivering safety, operational excellent and customer delivery to wide range of airlines as well working closely with airports.
 
This role will be approximately 70% focused on supporting Shell Aviation Operations in the Europe and South Africa (EUSA) Region to ensure we improve our profitability via customer driven solutions, active cost management, safety programs, operational excellence and continuous improvement.  Another exciting aspect of this role will involve working with the Global Aviation Operations Performance Management team on improvement initiatives/activities that drive the performance around the world.

Accountabilities
 

 

  • Support set-up of regional dashboard, works with country managers to track KPIs when move out of the target range and work to identify how to bring back to, or beat, target.

  • Cost analysis and identifying opportunities for improvement, including working with the rest of Operations team, Contracting&Procurement and finance to ensure the appropriate cost classification, analysis and cost/contract opportunities

  • Support and provides input to ‘Tri-Partite’ teams to support decision making regarding in-to-plane contracts, airport concession negotiations and volume/cost 

  • Monitor and track the performance of the Continuous Improvement major projects against targets. Supports defining and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures and works with Operational teams to implement at sites. Support the stimulation, monitoring, tracking and reward of ‘Just Do It’ projects.

  • Leverages digital opportunities 

  • Leading in maturity and sustainability assessments 

  • Has solid understanding of Airport Operations to translate operational reality into business opportunities, able to gather commitment from different teams to implement improvements

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Law or equivalent

  • Able to demonstrate appropriate commercial skills, motivated in operational environments and clear understanding how business activities connect into P&L

  • Track record of Continuous Improvement project delivery

  • Proven ability to create and manage effective alliances with key stakeholders to deliver through others process changes and improvement actions

  • Self-starter and able to work independently, able to grasp operational realities in Frontline and at aprons

  • Strong analytical skills, manage large data-sets, drive and ability to translate information into relevant insights and actions

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and trust

  • Able to work with different digital tools that are being used by operators and frontline staff, and gather/define/implement improvements in these tools as well related processes

  • English min. C1

  • Knowledge and application of CI/AGILE methodologies, processes and tools would be advantageous

  • Strong analytical skills including excellence in using Excel, Sharepoint and other collaborative working tools. Capability to synthezise and manage large sets of data.
