Job description:

PURPOSE:

The Senior Team Manager is accountable for timely, complete and accurate submission of Group Financial Returns & Segmented Financial Statements (SFS) for specific Downstream entities in scope. The incumbent will drive a culture of accountability and end-to-end controller mindset to ensure first-time-right submissions. The incumbent will also drive efficient and effective execution of the standard processes for the R&A financial accounting & reporting activities performed to support the Downstream Business; Owning the metrics implementation and performance management, controls including audit readiness, Continuous improvement mindset and sustaining Point C accountabilities in the post WCF world. The incumbent will also oversee active involvement of team in the delivery of group/org related initiatives that impact the entities in scope. The incumbent will also lead the team and support them in meeting operational and personal development aspirations.

 
Dimensions :
1. Reviewing the financial statements on a timely basis using Standard Ways of Working and oversight on R&A related financial controls of the entities in scope
2. Leading a small team ranging from JG5 to JG7 pivotal to the delivery of financial reporting with “First Time Right” mindset
3. Delivering organization priorities and driving a culture of safety, resilience and care within the team
4. Delivering all Point C accountabilities related to the entities in scope
5. Regular touchpoints with finance managers in country, other FO process leads and R&A Connect teams

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Principal Accountabilities: The successful candidate will build a deep knowledge of the outputs required and ways of working to deliver these, along with the tools and systems that are an integral enabler of the process. The Senior Team Manager will work collaboratively with their peers within Reporting and Analysis and other processes where operational excellence or data integrity impact on delivery. He/ she will drive a rigor for accounting standards, controls and data accuracy in Reporting and Analysis processes, while collaboratively addressing performance and data integrity at the touch points with other processes within Finance Operations and beyond. The role also requires an ability to manage the appropriate metrics and drive interventions either directly or with escalation.Senior Team Manager will display excellent supervisory skills and also technical knowledge of the process and its outputs. He/ she ensures their staff have the right skills (functional, continuous improvement, Process & Data) to perform their role and will help their teams to prioritize and remove blockers when necessary.

 

Requirements:

* University degree in Finance/Accountancy/Economics or a related field. Professional qualifications as ACCA/CA/CIMA preferred
* 5 to 8 years post qualification professional experience
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and retain staff and to develop leadership within an org
* Deliver results - take personal accountability to ensure timely and first time right delivery of commitments of self and team
* Champions customer focus - establish strong working relationships within the team and stakeholders
* Maximize business opportunities - lead process to identify and embed within the team and implement simplification opportunities
* Collaboration - as part of network of Senior team managers, share best practices and learnings
* Strong Communication and Analytical Skills
* Experience of working in a virtual environment required
* MS Excel skills is must
* Experience in SAP preferred
