Senior Reporting Accountant (Chief Accountant) for Poland will be responsible for the quality of the work performed by the finance team and information produced by them. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with strong technical skills and a hands-on, proactive approach to the work. The Chief Accountant will demonstrate analytical skills and willingness to take ownership, and the ability to generate high quality results in a deadline-oriented environment.
responsibilities
- Control of the month-end close ensuring compliance with agreed closing schedule;
- Cost valuation;
- Fixed assets monitoring;
- Supervise cashflow management;
- Coordinate of preparation statutory financial statements according to IFRS;
- Coordinate preparation of tax declarations according Polish regulations (CIT, VAT, transfer pricing) and liaise with Group Tax
- Management reporting;
- Cooperate with Auditors on Year End Closure and Internal Audit;
- Manage/develop a department of accountants;
- Drive quality and continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
- Prepare and co-ordinate forecasts and budgets;
- Supervise and co-ordinate financial reporting;
- Support Smith and Nephew Polish Management Board.
experience & competences required
- Relevant practical experience within an international work environment
- Relevant experience in audit and costing is advantageous
- Practical knowledge of income tax & VAT regulations
- Strong systems skills (Excel/Word and experience with ERP systems – ideally SAP)
- Experience with reporting software (Oracle/Hyperion)
- Excellent command of English
- Graduate in accountancy and/or finance
- CPA or Min Degree in Accounting/Finance/ACCA qualification
