Brown Brothers Harriman is seeking a Senior Solution engineer to join its Data Fabric Solutions group. You will work as part of a dynamic and growing team responsible for providing and delivering services on data, analytics, automation and reporting projects for new major transformative initiatives.
Data Fabric solutions are spanning a multitude of technologies, data/coding platforms and Analytics tools. In this team, you are expected to use data ingestion tools to bring new data to the fabric, data transformation tools and techniques to prepare data and a variety of Reporting and Analytics tools to deliver reports and data analytics solutions. You will be supporting our self-service model that will enable and empower Business and Systems users to explore and utilize the data to make informed decisions and gain processing proficiencies. As a Senior Solution Engineer you will work closely with users to understand the requirements and develop optimal solution designs. Solution design is translated into an executable plan that adheres to and participates in all phases of the systems development life cycle (SDLC). You should be able to work independently and collaboratively, managing time while multitasking
Responsibilities:

Develop data & reporting technology specifications and ensure that new technology solutions are designed for optimal access and usefulness, and leveraging existing technologies when possible

Oversee and support the design, development and implementation of data warehousing, reporting and analytics solutions that deliver information efficiently, with the end goal to solve business challenges and achieve business objectives

Comfortable understanding requirements and challenges of Analytics and Data Transformation solutions

Listens carefully to business needs and pains

Envision and describe solution components and tools to both business and technical teams

Help derive consensus on the right approach (Self-service, systems, build or use 3rd party etc.)

Establish best practices for data massaging and visualization

Provide coaching and mentoring for business users and development team

Participate in road shows to explain technology to business stakeholders

Participate partially in development effort when needed

Correlate with systems and business risk teams to review and approve proposed solutions

Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design a BI solution that meets operational requirements, specifically scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability and manageability

Identifying the technologies to employ based on cost, performance, service agreements and organizational constraints
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science, Computer Science or related field

3+ years of progressive employment experience in the job offered or related occupation;

Experience working with: BI & Reporting technologies, including Cognos, Qlik, Tableau, Alteryx or Power BI;

Basic knowledge of Python and Data Analytics concepts is a must;

Basic knowledge of SOAP and Rest Web Services;

Proficient dealing with Oracle and PL/SQL for database management;
