Junior Actuarial Model Developer
To qualify to this position, you must have:
- Basic understanding of actuarial topics in the field of life insurance
- Strong mathematical or economic background (master’s degree in mathematics, physics, quantitative methods, economy or related fields)
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Basic programming skills
- Strong analytical skills, with a focus on quality of analysis and deliverables
- Strong command of spoken and written English
The following are an advantage:
- Experience with Prophet or other actuarial modelling software
- Experience with VBA, R, C#, C++ or other programming languages
- Experience with SQL and processing of large amounts of data
- Knowledge of insurance regulations, especially Solvency II and IFRS17
- Passed actuarial exams or in the process of taking actuarial exams
- Strong command of spoken and written German
Your future role
The Junior Actuarial Model Developer will:
- Build/maintain/develop Prophet models used for various purposes
- Test, analyze and explain model results
- Applying modeling best practices to ensure consistent modeling methods
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams within Deloitte CE, Germany, UK, USA and other
- Work with clients, including dealing with queries, attending meetings and working on client sites

About the team
The Deloitte Actuarial Modelling Centre (AMC), part of the Central Europe Actuarial and Insurance Solutions practice (AIS CE), is our centre of excellence for actuarial modelling. The AMC formalizes the Deloitte approach to actuarial modelling where we are recognised as a market leader.
Our team operates in number of Central European countries, also supporting projects in Easter, Western Europe and the Middle East. It is one of the largest group of insurance consulting actuaries.
Services provided by AMC:
- Actuarial modelling for different purposes (local GAAP, Solvency II, MCEV, IFRS17)
- Finance transformation projects: calculation and reporting processes automation, modelling enhancements, robotic process automation, etc.
