Job purpose:

We are looking for a FAR Expert to work for one of our key stakeholders – Zurich France. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with various leaders/process owners/suppliers across Finance to understand accounting and financial reporting challenges/requirements, while assisting in the delivery of general accounting daily processing and month end closing activities and financial reporting to ensure they are completed in line with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Support for FAR Controller and CFO in various financial topics
  • Provide Group and external reporting (BS, P&L, Supplementary information to financial statement, Taxes) – according to IFRS and other GAAP if needed (e.g. SST GAAP, Irish GAAP, Solvency II)
  • Understand and explain GAAP to GAAP differences
  • Understand Tax calculations and perform Tax walkthrough analysis
  • Review various closing activities e.g. maintenance of interfaces to Sub ledger, FX revaluation, regrouping
  • Support/collaborate in various projects such as the analysis and implementation of Group Chart
    of Accounts changes
  • Be actively involved in the implementation of small to medium project efforts and supporting
    the accounting operation
  • Documenting and updating process changes to reflect current processes and contributing
    to continuous improvement
  • Understand ICFR Zurich framework, execute controls and advise on those to the less experienced Team Members
  • Acting as the technical & subject matter expert in general accounting principles, by conducting Account Reconciliation reviews and initiating changes to ensure the quality of the balance
    and financial records
  • Coordination between Cracow Team and French Team on operational day-to-day and ad hoc activities
  • Knowledge and understanding of IFRS and newly introduced IFRS 17 standards

Candidate’s profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
  • Knowledge and experience with IFRS
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of accounting and treasury principles
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to summarize and present the results
  • Good know how in insurance accounting matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication and influencing skills
  • Microsoft Office experience – intermediate to advanced (power tool is a plus)
  • English language skills – spoken and written at fluent level
  • French language skills is a plus

This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
