Record to Report (R2R) team provides ABB superior value through collaborative, compliant, digitalized accounting & reporting process. We are the team that owns the R2R process operating model including the process & embedded internal controls. We drive R2R process maturity towards best in-class. Our ultimate mission is to allow business to focus on what matters by providing standard, compliant, and user-friendly digitalized processes. As the R2R Process Owner, you will be responsible for the process vision, operating model design, including relevant internal controls and transformation/deployment strategy for specific taxonomy scope. Over time, your scope of process ownership may change as our processes mature hence, we are looking for a team member who is willing to grow and evolve with us during his/her ABB career. Your initial focus will be in intra-group transformation and to lesser extent in other R2R related sub-ledger processes. You will report to Global Process Owner Record to Report and manage a small team that supports you in the operating model design. You will actively collaborate with an extended R2R team spanning from Finance and Accounting Operations (FAO) to process peers and our Information Systems (IS) colleagues. Travel will be required as part of this role (10-30%) depending on your location. Applications from Europe and India are prioritized since proximity with FAO Hub in Cracow Poland or Bangalore India is preferred.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Develop a process vision for short and long-term and gain support for your development strategy.
  • Lead and initiate projectization of key initiatives that deliver operating model design and implementation within the relevant process scope. Collaborate with process PMO for best project outcomes. Ensure timely reporting and actionable plans to drive agreed outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain current design documentation of sub-process operating models and relevant induction/training materials.
  • Team up with operations and ABB IS in managing continuous development and possible process deviation to maintain target design.
  • Manage a small team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and developers, focusing on select sub-processes within the R2R domain. Your leadership will be key in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Coach and develop your team and work collaboratively across the GPO team to deliver best-in-class, aligned end-to-end process design for the main process.
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for end-to-end processes and within projects, ensuring that these metrics effectively measure and drive performance.
  • Collaborate with the ABB technology peers in maintaining the vendor relationships and contracts/costs.
  • Collaborate with the R2R compliance and operations teams when designing governance and escalation model as part of your operating model design and deployment strategy. Ensure that design continues to be fit-for purpose – enabling robust process compliance.

Your background

  • 10+ years’ experience from Record to Report processes, including process design. Big 4 or BPO driven transformation experience is beneficial.
  • CPA/CIA or equivalent and/or Lean Sigma qualifications is an advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of internal controls, ideally in US GAAP and SOX/ICOFR environments.
  • Skilled in leading and developing teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Exceptional ability in managing and nurturing talent within your team.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills (in English), coupled with the ability to manage change effectively.
  • Strategic thinking in developing and implementing process improvements.
  • Profound understanding of R2R processes (Sub-ledgers, General Ledger, and Period End Reporting), especially in SAP/CFIN environments.
  • Skilled in managing relationships with technology providers, ensuring their solutions align with our process needs.
