This position reports to

General Accounting Team Leader

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide accounting, reporting, and consolidation expertise. Each day, you will support in accounting and reporting matters to business/reporting units through resolution of accounting and reporting questions, financial statement preparation and review follow-up on accounting issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting in the preparation of financial reports in compliance with internal guidelines, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Performing General Accounting activities, completing specific month-end close tasks, clearing errors, executing accounting analyses and reports as assigned
• Executing established accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with ABB group policies and local instructions.
• Performing quality checks on financial reporting data submitted by the units, including analytical review of major fluctuations, and liaising with internal and external auditors on accounting and reporting issues.
• Conducting investigations and reconciliation of accounting transaction, as necessary, and facilitating the resolution of accounting and reporting issues.
• Assisting in developing and implementing processes and procedures
• Participating in global projects where process improvement will be an asset

Qualifications for the role:

• You have minimum 2 years of experience in General Accounting (General Ledger/Financial Reporting/Fixed Assets)
• You are highly skilled in Microsoft Office and Excel (functions, pivot table) and have a practical knowledge of an ERP system (SAP, S/4HANA)
• Enhanced knowledge of General Ledger, financial accounting, reporting, controlling, internal control or investment
• Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work with deadlines and stress situations
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or business area is a plus
• You are at ease communicating in English
