Corporate Controller
We are looking for a Head of Finance Processes, Data and Systems. This role is responsible for the overall governance of finance processes, including its design, documentation, performance, service placement, level of maturity, and continuous improvement initiatives. Manages all ABB Core Finance applications and process development end-to-end from infrastructure to end-user services. Ensures coordination between different finance processes and their respective data models. Is accountable for the Core Finance data and systems architecture.
The position reports to the Head of Corporate Controlling and Finance Processes, Data and Systems of ABB. The position can be located at ABB’s headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland or at the Company’s primary service hubs in Krakow, Poland or Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable to:
- Set the core process, data and systems vision and performance objectives to enable the organizational strategy.
- Run and maintain all ABB Core Finance systems on an end-to-end basis, from infrastructure through to end-user services, using Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodology.
- Oversee the design and execution of finance workflows, data management, and technology to guarantee seamless integration and architecture. Own and run governance process around processes, data and technology to ensure effective integration.
- Manage key stakeholder management, collaboration and communication.
- Initiate innovation including benchmarking with high-quality industry references to improve operational excellence.
- Define and report on a set of performance metrics (KPIs; cycle time, cost, capacity, etc.) and hold regular reviews of performance with appropriate stakeholders.
- Determine continuous improvement actions increasing performance & maturity of Core finance processes, data and systems; synchronize improvement plans with stakeholders.
- Establish governance and internal controls to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Ensure that design, delivery and documentation support business requirements.
- Communicate to leadership and stakeholders on progress and performance issues.
Qualifications for the role
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or related field with a minimum of 15 years of experience in global roles leading cross-functional teams. An MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., SAP Certification) is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of financial processes, system architecture, internal control design, and compliance regulations; 6 Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt and/or Lean Expert is a plus.
- Experience managing teams in a shared services organization that executes on service-level agreements and manages stakeholder needs.
- Foundation in finance and accounting best practices and principles across end-to-end processes (R2R, O2C, P2P, FP&A, Tax, Treasury). Ability to understand and manage financial processes and data flows across multiple systems and entities.
- Demonstrated experience in motivational leadership, effective team management, and managing organizational change through strategic thinking.
- Relevant experience in a complex, diverse and multi-divisional global (matrix) organization of significant size and scale for which proficient employee performance is essential for operational excellence.
- Able to manage multiple projects at the same time, creating and organizing appropriate priorities and capable of translating complex methodologies into simply defined practical business solutions.
- Advanced networking capabilities acquired in a highly multicultural organization, enabling the development of positive relationships and trust with senior executives.
- High degree of professionalism and integrity, together with motivation, resolve, and operational execution.
