For our Client, a big capital group with a matrix structure and complex financial environment, we are seeking a Group Accounting Director (m/f). The role is responsible for overseeing accounting at the Group level, supervising financial reporting processes, and shaping global accounting standards and policies. This position combines strategic leadership, management of international teams, and close cooperation with the Management Board and key business stakeholders.

Requirements
- extensive experience in accounting, including several years in a senior leadership or Group-level role,
- strong background in Group consolidation within an international structure,
- in-depth knowledge of IFRS and Group reporting standards,
- proven experience in managing multi-location or international teams,
- practical experience with ERP systems (SAP is preferred),
- experience in transformation, standardization, or system implementation projects,
- strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities,
- ability to operate effectively in an international and matrix environment,
- fluent English.
Responsibilities
- oversee the Group consolidation process in accordance with applicable standards (IFRS/local GAAP),
- ensure accurate and timely Group financial reporting,
- define and implement global accounting policies and standardize them across subsidiaries,
- supervise month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes across international entities,
- coordinate and manage relationships with external auditors and oversee audit processes,
- identify accounting risks and ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements,
- drive optimization and transformation initiatives within accounting processes and systems,
- lead and develop accounting teams across multiple locations, including senior managers,
- partner closely with the CFO and support the Management Board with financial insights and technical accounting guidance,
- participate in M&A projects, restructurings, and the implementation of new legal structures.
