Job description:

Accountabilities

Operations Management 

 

  • He/She would be accountable for performing all critical and more complex deliverables, in the light of business intimacy and business context gained.

  • Perform the role of a Business Analyst supporting Projects / Project Delivery for of UK Organization.

  • Ensures fit-for-purpose execution of MI process in accordance with RDS and FCM Controls.

  • Provide assistance in developing new MI and finance support processes.

  • Continuous focus on improvement opportunities

  • Planning, Target setting & Budgeting – Support the overall planning process in terms of understanding the various interfaces between planning one, SAP, master data systems and ensuring that plan data is meaningfully loaded in SAP system.

  • Performing Variance analysis and heavy involvement in LE Process: End to end involvement in the LE process including challenge sessions and translating them in the system for MI reporting.

  • Performance Management and Appraisals - Accountable for preparing Project delivery reporting,

  • including B1 submissions, BPR, departmental packs, and deliver other Shell internal reports and External reporting requirements (e.g. Government & JVs,). Analyze Budget vs Actuals and flag potential issues with Project/Asset teams.

  • Record and release contingencies - Update Project Contingencies/Allowances in ERP system reflecting approved values.

  • Accounting - Calculation and verification of value of work done for the respective projects, which includes accruals, reclassifications, allocations, etc.

  • Manage, Define and agree allocation methods and allocation keys. Support business on the Cost allocation creation/definition / disputes.

  • Supply chain management & Cost Leadership - Provide guidance and support to the RtP process over invoice payments, prepayments and Invoice claims.

  • End to end ownership in terms master data set up – WBS creation, release, TECO, set-up, review and monitor projects MOA//SAP authorities.

  • Advise the business on TW Codes and also Investigates and resolves TW errors and issues.

  • Support financial Closure of projects

 

Stakeholder Management  

  • Engage with other Processes and teams within FO that are involved with Operated Projects related work and FiB team to develop good end to end process knowledge of various processes and sharing best practices.

  • Proactively manages relationships with the key PTPO stakeholders, the Project Finance Manager and other senior stakeholders in UK.

 
CI Focus 

  • Drive CI in the organization, develop and maintain CI capability.

  • Drive CI in cost controlling space with aim to reduce man-hours spent on key processes.

Requirements:

 

  • Professionally qualified Accountant or Finance Specialist.

  • Experience in the field of cost control, controlling, finance or accounting.

  • Advanced experience knowledge of MS Office and experience in SAP.

  • Thorough understanding of projects management environment allowing quality cost (budget) control.

  • Proven experience in the Upstream business, Cost Control, Project Accounting and Business Partnering are advantageous.

  • Financial acumen and strong business partnering skills allowing to build effective professional relations as well as challenge the Business to think through strategic issues and value opportunities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills capable of working closely with and influencing other staff at all levels within Finance and the Business.

  • Enthusiastic high energy individual that is keen to work in an area that operates at the very heart of the Operated Upstream business.

  • Able to work independently, taking initiative for own work and that of other staff where appropriate. Strong self-starting capabilities.

  • Willingness for hands-on involvement in solving day-to-day and significant unusual problems.
