This position oversees the financial performance of Global Business Services (GBS) Finance across +30 GBS Finance front offices and 5 GBS Hubs covering 90+ countries around the world with a cost basis of over 125 MMUSD and more than 2 200 employees. It supports ABB Head of Corporate Controlling and Common Finance on operational side as well as ABB Global Head of GBS Controlling on finance side and reports into Europe Hub Lead of FP&A Center of Expertise.

As the Global GBS Finance Controller, you will be responsible for monthly review of GBS Finance financial performance at both product group and functional level, investigating, explaining any variances to target, implementing corrective actions and making sure expected benefits get realized. You will be forecasting future performance, both as part of 5QF (Five Qtrs Forecast process) and well as Annual Performance Plan in order to support business leaders and stakeholders in setting up the strategy for the future.

Your responsibilities

• Reinsuring strong cost performance in each of the 5 GBS Finance Hubs via monthly reviewing of financial figures, identifying potential risk and mitigating actions, and tracking of ongoing Group projects and restructuring together with Hub leads
• Providing guidance to GBS Finance management regarding capacity planning, service placement, and cost planning
• Designing, implementing, and leading the annual performance planning process for GBS Finance to ensure alignment between Front Office/GBS Hub capacity plan and stated long-term strategy for the function
• Preparing business cases, scenario analyses, and restructuring plan proposals to assist management decision making process and support achievement of Group financial target
• Preparing concise and professional presentation to present business plans, strategy updates, and performance reviews to senior management
• Supporting the financial tracking and performance of new and ongoing Merger & Acquisition integration/divestment projects
• Ensuring compliance with ABB’s internal control, Group accounting guidelines, and all Group Directives within GBS Finance. Responsible for proper invoicing, accruals, review, and forecasting of Group level cost centers

Your background

• A Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
• At least 8 years of experience in a corporate controlling or similar role within a large, international company. Experience in GBS controlling environment would be a big advantage
• Strong analytical mindset and proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
• Solid understanding of accounting policies and requirements. Knowledge in labor laws and international tax laws is helpful
• Good understanding of financial processes and performance management
• Knowledge in developing Standards, Audit, Accounting, Corporate Finance, tracking budget expenses, analyzing information, and developing budgets
• Expectation and stakeholder management skills combined with ability to understand and challenge financial and operational decisions in the context of larger picture and organizational strategy
• Ability to learn quickly combined with the “say, do” mindset
