Overview

Fund/Client Accounting - M5

  • Leads the Fund Accounting function with responsibility for conducting accounting services on behalf of a broad array of BNY Mellon clients including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports.
  • Responsible for the financial and human resources for the function and developing functional strategy.
  • Sets guidelines for determining the net asset value (NAV) for funds in all BNY Mellon client sectors for each measurement cycle.
  • Promotes consistency across product areas.
  • Oversees relationship management for a broad set of key BNY Mellon clients.
  • Ensures customer service levels are meet client needs and resolves any client issues.
  • Participates in sales efforts including RFP and RFI preparation and related presentations.
  • Participates in industry committees and stays abreast of industry matters affecting fund accounting.
  • Sets accounting standards for the function in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Resolves the most complex escalated issues from team members.
  • Oversees analysis of GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices relating to multiple client sectors.
  • Develops policies to best ensure compliance with new regulations.
  • Sets strategies, guidelines, policies, and priorities for the drafting of financial reports for a broad set of clients to review fund performance.
  • Communicates reports and highly complex accounting intricacies to clients.
  • Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
  • Oversees relationships with senior-level auditors and large and complex clients to ensure financial reporting meets their expectations and accurately depicts fund performance.
  • Manages the Fund/Client Accounting function through group managers.
  • Contributes to the achievement of Fund/Client Accounting objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 10-15 years of total work experience and at least 5-7 years in management preferred.
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred..
