Senior Payroll Specialist

The Senior Payroll Specialist works as part of a team that is responsible for the timely and accurate accumulation of payroll data. This will be accomplished by the complete end-to-end processing of the payrolls of various countries within Smith+Nephew in the respective region.

What will you be doing?

• Entry and review of the weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payroll time data
• Coordinating with Human Resources Department, HR Services and other internal and external partners personnel on the timely and accurate updating of employee masterfile changes in Workday
• Auditing payroll data entry and employee status changes to ensure accuracy prior to payroll execution
• Leading meetings/conversations on the most complex topics around payroll and transferring such knowledge to the team members
• Taking initiative to lead internal projects, leads change and improvement processes
• Working as a member of cross-GBS, multi-functional team on projects related to system upgrades for Workday, local Payroll and Time & Attendance system
• Handling interfaces and reports between Workday HR and local payroll systems.
• Acting as point of contact during the absence of the Payroll Service Delivery Team Manager

What will you need to be successful?

• Degree or equivalent experience in Payroll or Business related field
• 4 – 7 years of related regional payroll experience at a company processing 500+ employees
• Ability to handle difficult conversations and experience in conflict management
• Prior experience with having a role in new systems implementation, including the testing phase (nice to have)
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Great communication skills
• Ability to work with pace and pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent stakeholder management
